Early Childhood and Youth Development Policy
Room 5 of the State Office Building
FCCI’s HF 2001/SF 1741:
· Proposes a single, transferable background study for independent contractors within a county (music teacher, zumba instructor, substitute care provider) in family child care programs.
· Clarifies safe sleep practices so a correction order cannot be issued under 245A.1435 unless there is evidence that a violation occurred when an infant was present in care.
· SUIDS/Abusive Head Trauma annual training requirement will be streamlined into a single course on a 2 year cycle: the first year the SUIDS/AHT training would be completed either in person or on-line and the second year through a video.
